While I am glad you enjoyed the story, I urge you to try to deconstruct this narrative of women needing to react, speak up, etc. Yes, these skills are useful, but they are not always safe or comfortable in the moment. It’s also not women’s job to call out men on boundaries that they already shouldn’t be violating. I dive into all of these concepts in the second half of the story. I am often frustrated with men (and people in general) when they try to give me or any woman unsolicited advice on what should’ve been done, what to do next time, etc. Realize that you don’t understand fully how this feels and that there are so many reasons why women don’t (and shouldn’t be expected to) be the ones outwardly reacting to the situation.
