You are absolutely right, but germophobia often co-occurs with OCD (but as you said, not always). Furthermore, germophobia is not nearly my only manifestation of my OCD. I dive deeper into it in other articles.


In the article, I also differentiate between the two conditions by identifying myself as having “germophobia *and* OCD” in both the beginning and end of the story.

I also have an extensive background in psychology and am well aware of the many differences among these conditions. I would never want to be perpetuating any false information, so I’m leaving these clarifications here.
