I understand that people’s individual backgrounds may make this a harder adjustment to follow through with in our daily lives. I hadn’t thought of how being in the military might influence that!

I do still believe that inclusivity is important no matter what (which it seems like you do as well!), but I also acknowledge that change doesn’t always come easily.
