Thank you for this response and for sharing your perspective :) if it wasn’t clear in the article I definitely want to clarify that I 100% understand women who engage in PIV sex wanting to do a sex strike, especially when doing so out of the fear of potential dangerous consequences. I think that’s an empowered decision they’re making for their own bodies and I applaud it. The only thing I am against is a “campaign” for it, particularly by people who are unaffected by the issue and are using this suggestion as a way to prove allyship or something. I think it all just depends on what a woman is comfortable with and whether she is even still interested/comfortable with having sex with men after this horrifying event.

And yes you are totally right that sex shouldn’t be reduced to PIV/heterosexual sex! I think most women can agree that sex can be enjoyed without men and that’s perhaps something we will be enjoying more frequently nowadays!
